This 1931 Ford Model A pickup plays a cool game of “What if…”

After all, we know how cool the Harley-Davidson package was on the more modern F-150. But this fresh build imagines what it would look like had the two teamed up decades earlier at the dawn of the motoring era.

This one really holds quite true to an idea about being something different without straying too far from period-correct. The result is something quite thoughtful. One of the best ways to see this is in the color theme. The base for the Harley-Davidson style is easy with a glossy black. But this one makes sure it looks extra attractive with professional application and a build that has less than 1k miles on it. The silver is integrated by using it to accent the Model A’s natural body lines, and while the wire wheels often came in different colors, you can instantly tell these are in H-D orange. They didn’t chop the top or add fat tires because that would be more of the post-war kind of customizing. Instead, this build puts the fresh motor on display to add extra flair (more on that in a moment.) And it’s under this kind of theme that you also still have all the best vintage details, like a vinyl roof cover, windshield overhang, and terrific-looking lumber in the truck bed.

There’s plenty more Harley-Davidson inside. The door panels and headliner are embossed with the H-D logo. And the seats look terrific with bold orange inserts and the full color logo stitched into the seatbacks. We have a receipt documenting $3k spent just for this custom interior style. This has nice features like plush carpeting and Ultraleather upholstery. But just like the exterior, they didn’t go overboard with upgrades so that it keeps a period-correct feeling. That’s why you have the four-spoke steering wheel, tall shifter, and bright vintage dash panel.

All Model As, even the trucks, got the same four-cylinder engine, but there is a reason why this one is always on display. It looks terrific with the cool finned aluminum head that makes this look like the air-cooled H-D motorcycle powerhouses. And within this bright and clean style are well-integrated power upgrades like a touring cam, a Weber dual-barrel carb, and Reds header. There are also the right upgrades for a better driver like an alternator and an electric fuel pump. This now also has a four-speed manual transmission with synchronized gears for easy cruising. These may be upgrades for a more useful pickup, but overall, it never loses that classic Model A feeling. And as you look underneath, the silver paint on the chassis and suspension is a particularly nice touch that ties in more of the color theme and also reminds you how fresh this build is.

This is a highly documented professional restoration.
