Looking for a classic hauler to haul your classic vehicle? Check out this 1948 Ford F-6

With a custom Hodges bed with new ramps.

The F-6 was Ford’s top medium-duty truck, just under the heavy-duty F-7 and F-8. Dressed in yellow, the truck’s paint and black trim are in very good overall shape. The bodywork is straight, including the cab lights. The black from bumper fits tightly to the body along with black sideview mirrors. There is only a driver’s side windshield wiper. Paint is not perfect with imperctions and some light rust. A Ramsey Winch rests behind the cab (will need work as switch work only “out” not “in”) at the forward edge of the Hodges Custom Hauler Bed.

This truck rolls on a older mixed group of Power King tires in front, size 7.50-20 in front and Goodyear Hi-Milers in back, size 8.25-20. There are dual rear wheels and each tire is mounted to a steel wheel painted black. This truck rides on a 158-inch wheelbase and has a 15,500 GVWR.

Under the hood is a 254 CID Flathead straight six-cylinder engine (M-Series). Backing this motor is a four-speed manual transmission, either a spur gear or Synchro-Silent type.

Inside, the black bench seat looks great and there are black floor mats put down for driver and passenger. A newer black headliner looks good, too. A three-spoke, black steering wheel faces the driver and adds a nice contrast to the yellow metal dashboard and inner door panels. The dash features a full array of ancillary gauges (inop) The speedo/odo are inop. There is an aftermarket voltmeter mounted below the dash A floor-mounted shifter completes the interior.

Nineteen forty-eight Ford truck models featured wider, longer and taller cabs. Model designations for trucks were badged as F-1s. Heater only, no defroster. Running boards curved over the frame and under the cab.
