I know, I know, it has a ’70 grill, so here’s why: the cab and front clip came from a ’70 we brought down from Idaho

The frame and bed are from a 1967 pickup we brought down from Rawlins. The bed is rattle can red and white and is the piece with the worst body damage. The left rear quarter has been damaged, and there is some through rust in the bed floor. That’s the only through rust I could find on the whole truck. It’s licensed as a ’67 ’cause I wanted the frame serial number to match the door tag. It is a real short bed.

The 302 engine, automatic transmission, power brakes and power steering were removed from a ’71 we bought in Logan. There was no cutting or welding on this build – everything is Ford bolt on parts. Everything is in good condition, but the motor is in need of valve guide seal on the left bank. Call your mechanic, it shouldn’t be too expensive. Gauges are unreliable, temperature always works, gas gauge never works, oil pressure and amp gauge sometimes work, speedometer quit working completely. The good thing is, the heater and radio always work. The seat will need to be reupholstered.

It has a new windshield, new dual exhaust, new rear brakes and hardware, and the gas tank was boiled and sealed. It starts up quickly and runs well. It does drift a bit to the right if you let go of the steering wheel. It doesn’t pull, just drifts. May need to be aligned. Windows roll up and down easily, and doors open and shut really nice. It’s still a project, but it’s driveable as it is.
