1938 Ford F85 Pickup truck. The truck was restored in 2012 but has been kept in my garage ever since and I only drive it on sunny days. It was a frame off restoration and we began by locating a replacement frame which was in excellent condition. The truck was completely disassembled, the parts were stripped, primered, and painted, then the truck was painstakingly reassembled on the new frame. The red and black custom paint job is stunning, and the truck has that large, oval grille which is unique to the 1938 model. We didn’t have to do much to the engine, which has that distinctive sound of a flathead V-8, or the transmission, which is a three speed manual shift on the floor. We did add an electronic fuel pump and upgraded the electrical system to 12 volts. This makes starting and operating the vehicle much more reliable. This is not a show quality, nuts and bolts, restoration but it is a high quality cosmetic restoration that can stand up to close scrutiny.
