Stock and original, good running and driving, well-patina’d, barn find example of a 1969 Chevrolet C20 four wheel drive pickup truck which spent it’s life as a work truck in the mountains of Southern Utah before long-term storage at a ranch in Enoch, Utah. It’s a solid runner that I just took on a 50 mile road trip at highway speeds.

The running gear is all stock and has been well-maintained over the years. The engine is a 350cid V8 (with new battery, starter, and a newer exhaust; still, it could probably stand a carb rebuild and/or adjustment to your altitude) connected to a Muncie SM465 4 speed manual transmission running through a New Process 205 transfer case. The front differential is a Dana 44 and the rear is an Eaton. Everything works as it should other than weak syncro’s on the 3 to 4 upshift (it’s still very easy to shift).

The interior is in decent, original condition. Battery, temperature, and oil gauges work but speedometer and fuel gauge do not (fuel gauge needs to be wired up). Heater fan motor works and is wired to a toggle switch on the dash. Rust is confined to the rocker panels and a small section of passenger floorboard. It currently has an aftermarket steering wheel but the original is included.

The exterior is well-used with good patina (I’m a patina guy so it looks cool to me). All glass is good and doors open and close solidly. The outer button on the driver side door handle is missing but it’s easily opened by pushing the button behind it. Exterior rust is primarily in the rockers with a small hole in the driver side cab corner. Bed has a beefy steel plate welded over the original floor but most of the original floor still looks good from underneath. Factory passenger door mirror is included but not installed. And most exterior lights work.

This is an awesome rig which could easily be a daily driver. It starts, idles, shifts, accelerates, turns, brakes and stops very well. The mechanical bones are solid and it primarily needs some exterior cosmetic love. Or just enjoy it as it is. Plus, it’s all stock and still pretty tight (other than a rattily drivers door due to old weatherstripping). Vintage solid axle 4X4 trucks that haven’t been horribly buggered up over the years are getting harder and harder to come by. My hope is it ends up with someone who will preserve and enjoy it or take it to the next level.
