FORD FLATHEAD V8 APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN REBUILT AT SOME POINT BUT NO INFORMATION AS TO WHEN. IT IS VERY CLEAN, FIRES RIGHT UP AND RUNS VERY STRONG. APPEARS TO BE THE ORIGINAL 221 85HP THAT THIS TRUCK WOULD HAVE CAME WITH. ENGINE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY STOCK EXCEPT FOR RADIATOR CAP, OVERFLOW TANK, AND BATTERY HOLD DOWN. FIRST YEAR FOR THE FORD SYNCHRO 3 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO YOU CAN DOWN SHIFT. THIS IS GREAT AS IT HELPS YOU SLOW DOWN AND TAKES IT EASY ON YOUR BRAKES.  THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTH THROUGH THE GEARS. NO EXCESSIVE PLAY AND A FAIRLY QUIET TRANSMISSION AND REAR END. FACTORY BANJO REAR END WITH 4:11 GEAR RATIO. OVERALL THE TRUCK RUNS DRIVES AND STOPS WELL THOUGH TOWN. TEMPERATURE STAYS WITHIN OPERATING RANGE EVEN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON WARM DAYS.
