The first post-war truck offered by Ford, the F-1 was first introduced in 1948. It was the first Ford truck to be built on a dedicated truck platform, versus the previous shared car platform Ford utilized. The F-1 was a stronger, more capable truck. The F-1 would enhance Ford’s truck business, ultimately carrying it to sales leadership. With several innovative features, options and engine configurations, the F-1 was a truck with wide appeal to a large audience of truck users.
